Jefferson County, Illinois – US Bank is well on its way to completion of a new 3,909 square-foot bank building. This will replace its previous branch, located at 4100 Broadway in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. The facility will become the bank headquarters, replacing the downtown facility, located at 123 S. 10th Street. Despite the move, the downtown bank location will maintain its detached drive-through location. U.S. Bank plans to ensure a continued presence by U.S. Bank for customers on the east side of the community.
Statement from US Bank
“U.S. Bank is proud to be a part of the Mt. Vernon community. While we have recently announced we will close our lobby branch in the 10th Street main building on April 26 and sell the real estate, we look forward to continuing to serve our customers in the area through our recently remodeled drive-thru located at 123 S. 10th Street and our new location, scheduled to open April 29 at 4100 Broadway Street,” states Cindy Page, US Bank Vice President and District Manager.
“We have made a substantial capital investment in the Mt. Vernon market over the past few months and we look forward to continuing to serve our clients. The new Broadway Street facility will offer best-in-class service and amenities including safe deposit boxes. Once open, we invite our neighbors to stop by the 4100 Broadway Street branch to see why we are so excited about our latest investment in the Mt. Vernon community.”
U.S. Bank has a grand re-opening celebration planned shortly after the April 29th branch opening. The transition to the new building will not disrupt the existing tenants at the downtown location. They will continue their businesses uninterrupted. After the move, Jefferson County Development Corporation will work with U.S. Bank and its real estate consultants to find a new owner. The downtown office building has approximately 85,000 square-foot available.
